Question

In the field, there is a hole from which a small ball is ejected . Just before the ejection, the ball's speed is and directed vertically upwards. At the moment of ejection, the ball collides perfectly elastically with a second ball, which was initially at rest at the surface level of the field. After the collision, the balls move only under the influence of gravity and fall somewhere in the field. The impact of the balls with the field is perfectly inelastic. Find the maximum possible distance between the points where the balls land. Also, find the maximum possible distance from the hole to the landing point of one of the balls. Assume the field surface is horizontal. The sizes of the hole and the balls are small compared.
